Sara Kaplan ’11 selected for White House Internship Program

Sara Kaplan ’11 has been selected to take part this spring in the in Washington, D.C., where she will be involved in the White House Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs.

In addition to the White House program, Kaplan has started work toward a master’s degree in political science from the George Washington University, where she is studying legal institutions and theory.

During her time at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, Kaplan, who worked closely with Professor Laura Roselle in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, interned for U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan, worked as a tutor, and did mission work with the Greensboro Jewish Federation. In addition, she studied abroad in Israel, Poland, Spain, and Greece.

Kaplan’s senior seminar thesis project was on new technologies and human rights in authoritarian countries.
