MBA Student Alumni Association gives to ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Academy Dream Fund

The MBA Student Alumni Association hosted a golf tournament that raised $1,000 in support of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Academy Dream Fund, a special budget created by the association three years ago to assist ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Academy with college visits, involve students in school and community projects, and help students and families when unexpected life situations arise.

MBA program leaders and alumni presented a check to the scholars, families, and staff at a recent ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Academy program. Presenters were Ed Adams and Victoria Mabry Dixon, alumni leaders of the MBA Alumni Association.

In 2007, in collaboration with the Alamance-Burlington School System, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ established the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Academy, a three-year intensive college access program for academically promising high school students with a financial need and/or no family history of college. Its mission is to inspire students to pursue and earn a postsecondary degree and to assume leadership roles in their communities.

The program includes three 4-week residential summer experiences and year-round monthly Saturday programs on ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s campus. Support for the students continues through higher education.
