Alumni, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ in L.A. interns enjoy an Evening for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ

Los Angeles-area alumni joined President Leo M. Lambert and the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ in L.A. interns at an Evening for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ on June at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

President Lambert speaks to a crowd of more than 80 students, alumni and friends of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ.

The 35 ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ in L.A. interns attended the social after a dinner with Doug Finberg ’94, vice president of international marketing for Marvel Studios. At the Roosevelt, students mingled with alumni including Laith al-Majali ’05, an award-winning filmmaker and ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s 2010 Commencement speaker.

In his brief remarks, President Lambert recognized the Los Angeles Alumni Chapter’s leaders, especially Hannah Campbell ’02, who has served as president since the chapter’s inception.

“This event demonstrated the power of an engaged alumni chapter,” President Lambert said. “By staying involved in the life of the university, alumni can play a crucial role in assisting student interns, such as those in the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ in L.A. program, along with recent graduates and other fellow alumni. All of us benefit from a strong and committed alumni network.”

Afterward, Jim Piatt, vice president for university advancement, gave the audience an update on the progress of the Ever ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Campaign. J. McMerty, coordinator of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ in L.A. program, introduced the interns to the alumni audience and encouraged the students to take advantage of the evening’s networking opportunities.
