Several members of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s generous community of donors have made recent gifts to support construction of the new athletics field house, which will serve teams that compete in the north athletics complex.
Providing excellent facilities for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s student athletes inspired Richard “Dick” H. Shirley to make a $25,000 gift to support the field house project.
A loyal donor to ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ athletics, Shirley serves on the Phoenix Club Advisory Board and is a member of the Phoenix Club IMPACT Circle. Shirley is the owner of Dick Shirley Chevrolet Cadillac in Burlington, N.C.
Longtime benefactors Rick and Lummy Barnes, of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, N.C., continued their dedicated support of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ athletics by donating $25,000 to the field house. The couple’s field house gift is in addition to their annual gifts to the Phoenix Club.
Rick Barnes is a 1987 ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ alumnus, and he and his wife have been enthusiastic supporters of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ athletics, including making gifts to support construction of Rhodes Stadium. The couple are members of The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Society, the university’s premier annual giving recognition group.
These gifts count toward the $100 million Ever ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Campaign. For more information on the campaign, click on the link to the right.
