Virginia newspaper features ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ course on NASCAR

A popular Winter Term course at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ was featured in a Virginia newspaper when the class visited the state on Monday, Jan. 21, 2008. The story on the class, BUS 350 W “Business of NASCAR,” is no longer available online.

The course is taught by Coleman R. Rich, who, along with ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Registrar  Mark Albertson,  took  25 students to South Boston, Va., for a firsthand look at the South Boston Speedway.

“We draw parallels between the NFL and NASCAR, look at marketing
aspects and why companies want to sponsor a driver, and also look at
the demographics of those who attend races,” Coleman told reporter Doug Ford with the Gazette-Virginian in Halifax County.
