Faculty/Staff Health & Wellness Clinic
ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Faculty and Staff are encouraged to participate in the wellness program, which includes the following free activities:
- ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ employee and dependents 18 years of age and up can make provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant and Medical Doctor) appointments for acute care, worker’s compensation, health prevention, immunizations, pre-physicals for a referral to primary care, etc.

Taking Time Off
Vacation
Vacation time is accrued based on years of service. Below is the schedule for receiving vacation time as a full-time employee. Part-time employees working at least 20 hours/week accrue vacation time just the same as a full-time employee, except on a pro-rated schedule.
- 0-4 years continuous service – 13 days
- 5-9 years continuous service – 15 days
- 10-14 years continuous service – 17 days
- 15-19 years continuous service – 19 days
- 20+ years continuous services – 21 days
Eligibility:ÌýUpon first day of employment as earned. Employees are permitted to carry over more than 20 vacation days throughout the year, but will only be able to carry over a maximum of 20 days into a new calendar year.
Personal Leave
The university provides two personal paid days off annually to regular full-time employees. Personal days are accrued over the course of 12 months after hire.

Sick Leave
An employee earns one day of sick leave for each month of employment and may accumulate no more than 130 days. Part-time employees who work at least 20 hours per week earn a pro-rated amount.

Volunteer Hours
ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ recognizes the importance of being a good corporate citizen and the responsibility to help our surrounding communities. Staff are encouraged to become involved in the community by lending their voluntary support to programs that positively impact the quality of life within
these communities.
Regular full-time staff working 30+ hours per week will be granted up to sixteen (16) hours of paid volunteer service leave per calendar year. Volunteer service leave hours do not rollover from year to year and will not be cashed out at the end of employment.

Parental School Leave
Full-time and introductory employees may take up to four (4) hours of unpaid leave each calendar year to attend a school function or meeting.

Main Campus Holiday Schedule
The main campus is closed for a minimum of 13 days throughout the year.ÌýRegular full-time employees are eligible for up to 13 paid holidays in each calendar year. Regular employees who work at least 20 hours per week are eligible for paid holidays if holidays occur within regularly scheduled work hours.
Law School Holiday Schedule
The School of Law is closed for a minimum of 13 days throughout the year.

Life Events
Birth and Adoption Leave
Full-time non-teaching employees with atÌýleast four months of continuous service will be eligible for 8 weeks paid birth/adoption leave. The non-birthing parent of a newborn will be granted up to four weeks of paid leave at the time associated with the birth. Faculty will be granted course release(s) associated with the birth/adoption.
Eligibility: Full-time employees with at least four months of continuous service will be eligible for paid birth/adoption leave. In the absence of four months of continuous service, up to eight weeks of unpaid birth/adoption leave will be provided.ÌýNon-teaching employee may use unpaid leave or earned sick leave or vacation (if applicable).
Family Medical Leave
Up to 12 weeks of leave per year for the birth of a child, the placement of a child for adoption or foster care, or the serious health condition of the employee or an immediate family member or military service member.
Eligibility: To be eligible for FML leave, an employee must have worked for the employer at least 12 months, worked at least 1,250 hours during the previous 12 months, and must work at a jobsite where at least 50 ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ employees are employed within a 75-mile radius.
Lactation Spaces on Campus
Lactation rooms are available for faculty, staff, students and visitors to ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ. ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ provides private, secure, and clean lactation rooms to support nursing mothers. You can find them in three buildings located across campus.

Supervisor Guidelines
Supervisors should work with employees to schedule reasonable break time for the employee’s need to express milk. If you have questions regarding lactation breaks, please contact HR.

Retirement Plan
ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ offers a Defined Contribution Plan and Tax Deferred Annuity Plan provided by TIAA-CREF.
Eligibility: Participation is required of all active regular, full-time employees who have satisfied the one-year waiting period. Employees are required to contribute (4%) as a condition of employment of his/her annual base salary and the university contributes (8%). For employees who have previously participated in a 403(B) retirement account the one (1) year waiting period is waived with proper documentation.Ìý

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)
Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)
ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is a qualified employer for the PSLF Program that forgives the remaining balance on federal Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying payments while working full-time.

Waiver Information:
The U.S. Department of Education (ED) announced a temporary, but significant waiver to PSLF program rules. The waiver period ended on October 31, 2022.

Salary Increases
Increases will be determined each year and are based on individual performance and the availability of funds.
Tuition Exchange
ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ participates in a tuition exchange program that enables dependents of faculty/staff to enroll in partnering schools. Consult the for more information.
Eligibility:ÌýOpen to the dependents of all full-time faculty and staff who have completed two or more years (24 months) of full-time service to ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ by September 1 of the academic year for which they are applying.
Tuition Remission
Employees
All regular, full-time employees (30-40 hours per week) may take up to eight (8) credits per semester (fall and spring), with supervisor approval for an undergraduate degree available immediately upon hire. Employees enrolling in an eligible graduate program must be employed for at least 12 months prior to receiving tuition remission.ÌýUnder certain circumstances, the 12-month requirement may be waived, and must be approved by the division Vice President and Human Resources.
All regular, part-time employees (20-29 hours per week) may take up to four (4) credits per semester (fall and spring), with supervisor approval for an undergraduate degree. These hours may be taken during work hours, with supervisor approval, so long as that time is made up.
Employees who work full-time but less than 12 months are permitted to take a maximum of eight (8) credits per summer and winter as long as they are not scheduled to work at any time during the period in which the class(es) will take place.

Dependents
The spouse/qualifying partner and eligible children of an eligible ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ employee shall qualify for either partial or full remission of tuition payments for courses taken at the University based upon the length of service of the employee.
Full-time employees (30-40 hours per week)
- 0-24 months – 0
- 2nd year (Beginning of or after 24 months) – 100% tuition remission
Part-time employees (20-29 hours per week)
- 0-24 months – 0
- 2nd year (Beginning of or after 24 months) – 50% tuition remission
