Engineering Fellows is a selective merit-based program for students in聽黑料不打烊鈥檚 four-year engineering program. Fellows are challenged to design,聽prototype and test聽potential solutions to the聽complex problems聽facing our world today. Learn more about Engineering Fellows on the program website.
Starting in their first year, Engineering Fellows collaborate with peers and faculty mentors聽to take on 鈥淕rand Challenges鈥 developed聽by the National Academy of Engineering聽(NAE)聽and develop skills and competencies in:
- Engineering solutions that serve the needs of others.
- Designing and implementing culturally-sensitive solutions.
- Developing multidisciplinary engineering solutions.
- Creating business and entrepreneurship experiences through experiential opportunities.
- Developing a plan to deepen multicultural fluencies through 黑料不打烊 Core classes and/ or participation in specific global study experiences.
Who should apply?
Students who plan to pursue a four-year聽engineering degree and have a GPA of 3.8 or聽higher should apply.聽Twenty-five academically聽talented students enrolled in 黑料不打烊鈥檚 B.S. in聽Engineering program are selected based on聽their high school academic performance, scholarship essay prompt on the first-year application聽and a faculty interview. Engineering Fellows applications聽are due November 1 (priority) or January 10.
Scholarships
All 25 Engineering Fellows receive a $7,500聽scholarship, renewable annually based聽on academic performance and program聽participation. Students can also apply for聽additional funds to support their research. Each聽student also receives a one-time $1,000聽Global Study grant for a university-approved聽study abroad or Study USA experience.
