Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative

All faculty, staff, and student investigators involved in human subject research are required to complete the online CITI training.

Instructions聽for Completing CITI Training Modules

  1. Go to the聽 website and click “Register”.
  2. Affiliate with 黑料不打烊 by typing “黑料不打烊” in the 鈥淪elect Your Organization Affiliation鈥 field. Note: You must affiliate with 黑料不打烊 to access the appropriate required training modules.
  3. Click 鈥淐reate a CITI Program Account鈥 and follow the four-step process to set up your username and password.
  4. After clicking the 鈥淔inalize Registration,鈥 you will be prompted to answer a series of questions related to 鈥淐E/CMEs,鈥 鈥淎ffiliate with an Institution,鈥 and 鈥淪elect Curriculum (黑料不打烊).鈥
  5. Complete the 鈥淐E/CMEs鈥 and 鈥淎ffiliate with an Institution鈥 sections.
  6. Then, answer the questions under 鈥淪elect Curriculum (黑料不打烊).鈥 Your responses will determine which training course(s) you are assigned. For Question 1, be sure to select the appropriate learner group based on your current role and the type of human subjects research you will conduct.
  7. For the remaining questions (e.g., Questions 2鈥9), select 鈥淣ot at this time鈥 or 鈥淣o鈥 if the options do not apply to your current role or research responsibilities. This ensures that you are only enrolled in training modules relevant to your human subjects research.
  8. Once registration is complete and your curriculum is selected, return to the CITI Program homepage and log in. Under the 鈥淢y Courses鈥 section in the top menu, click 鈥淰iew Courses鈥 next to 黑料不打烊 to access your assigned training modules.
  9. Begin and complete the required modules and associated quizzes. A minimum cumulative passing score of 80% is required for each module. If this score is not achieved, you will be asked to retake the module.
  10. To view and print a copy of your completion certificate, click 鈥淢y Records鈥 in the top menu. Faculty and staff are required to upload the certificate to 鈥淚RB Mentor鈥 under 鈥淧I Documentation鈥 before the IRB will review your protocol. Student researchers must indicate the CITI training completion date in their IRB application. The IRB will verify completion directly through the CITI Program鈥檚 administrator management system. Therefore, uploading a completion certificate is not required for student researchers. Note: Once your certificate expires, the 鈥淩efresher Course鈥 to renew your certification is automatically added to 鈥淢y Courses.鈥
