Internships
Internships
The Department of Religious Studies supports our majors pursuing聽internships聽in the field of Religious Studies.聽Internships聽offer students the opportunity to apply their growing knowledge in real-world situations and to practice skill development in projects with practical outcomes.聽Internships聽also help students develop professional skills as well as potential connections within fields of interest for future employment.
In any Religious Studies department internship, students will:
- apply Religious Studies scholarly frameworks to a professional context.
- reflect on how Religious Studies scholarly frameworks apply to internship experiences.
- analyze and assess the scholarly value of the internship experience.
Students may consider internships in educational, government, faith-based, non-profit or related organizations. They may work on direct service (e.g. food, housing, basic needs), community relationships (e.g. interfaith projects or PR), philanthropy and fundraising, or research (e.g. serving as a research assistant to a faculty member). Anyone interested in discussing聽internship聽possibilities may contact Dr. Rebecca Todd Peters (rpeters@elon.edu).
