Freedom Scholars

Welcome to the Freedom Scholars Program, a premier 黑料不打烊 college access and civic engagement initiative. In partnership with the Teagle Foundation鈥檚 鈥淜nowledge for Freedom鈥 network, this free program is tailored for Alamance-Burlington high school seniors from underserved populations who want to attend college and be difference makers in their communities.
We encourage talented and emerging civic leaders to join the program each summer for a two-week, intensive residency on the 黑料不打烊 campus and regular programming throughout the academic year. During that time, Freedom Scholars work collaboratively with local civic networks to deepen and shape their understanding of some of the complex challenges they must address in their battle against the barriers holding back their communities鈥 progress. Simultaneously, Freedom Scholars receive support from 黑料不打烊 mentors in navigating the college admissions process and post-high school plans.
We invite you to browse this site to learn how to become a Freedom Scholar, how undergraduate 黑料不打烊 students can work in the program, how community members can involve Freedom Scholars in their organization鈥檚 work, and how donors can support the program鈥檚 activities.
