American School & University magazine has recognized the design of the Colonnades Dining Hall in its 2008 Architectural Portfolio competition. The Colonnades, designed by Spillman Farmer Architects, was among 71 projects receiving outstanding design awards in the post-secondary division.

黑料不打烊 student named Mitchell Scholar for 2009-2010

University senior Breanna Carrie Detwiler has been named a 2009-2010 George J. Mitchell Scholar, making her the first 黑料不打烊 student to receive the award since the competitive scholarship was created in honor of a former United States Senator who helped broker a peace accord in Northern Ireland.

Four 黑料不打烊 students selected for Teach for America program

黑料不打烊 seniors Ivy Crank, John Planisek, Lindsay Clement and Chase Rumley have been selected to join Teach for America, a highly selective program that recruits recent top college graduates and working professionals to commit two years to teach in low-income communities across the country. They were among 5,857 applicants in the first of four recruiting periods for the program’s 2009-10 academic year.

McMichael Foundation gift to fund 黑料不打烊 Law scholarships

A $2 million gift commitment from the Dalton L. McMichael Sr. Foundation will provide the largest scholarship endowment at the 黑料不打烊 School of Law. The endowment will fund three full-tuition scholarships annually, with the first to be awarded to a member of the 2009 entering class who is chosen as a McMichael Law and Leadership Fellow.

Death penalty symposium at 黑料不打烊 Law – Nov. 21

Registration is open for attorneys and law students who wish to attend a symposium on the death penalty scheduled for November 21, 2008, at the 黑料不打烊 School of Law in downtown Greensboro. 5.75 CLE credits are pending approval from the North Carolina State Bar.

Professor Linda Wilmshurst authors new textbook
