Civil rights pioneer delivers Diversity Day address at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law

Julius Chambers, whose work as a civil rights attorney made school desegregation a reality in Charlotte and many other cities, told prospective law students that the poor and uneducated need advocates to fight on their behalf. Chambers' remarks came during the first Diversity Day at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law on Feb. 9.

Two ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students had their original screenplays selected to be produced and filmed as part of the nationwide Sprite Refreshing Films™ contest, a program "that gives future moviemakers a chance to create real films with industry pros and celebrities." Eleven additional ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students were also selected to serve as staff interns.

RecycleMania returns to ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ this month for the university’s fifth year taking part in a recycling competition involving hundreds of colleges and universities across the nation, including 19 institutions of higher learning in the state of North Carolina. New this year is an ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ campus contest where students spotted recycling at certain times of the week can win extra Phoenix cash for their efforts.
