An annual campaign coordinated by the Office of Sustainability diverted thousands of usable furnishings and food from landfills this spring and into the coffers of regional charities that help people in need.

The Triangle Clean Cities Coalition recognized the university for reducing petroleum use by more than 17,000 gallons over the past year. 

The plan, first created in 2007 and updated this spring with input from campus stakeholders, has 38 objectives across four categories: operations, planning and administration, engagement and academics.

An annual Strawberry Festival and Heirloom Plant Sale hosted by a "Garden Studio" course proved popular with the campus community on the final Friday of classes for the 2015 spring semester.

Wondering what to do with that perfectly good item you don’t want to pack? Donation Stations are set up throughout campus May 13-27 to collect donations which go to local charities and assist those in need in Alamance County. 

The final Friday of classes this spring gives members of the campus community time to enjoy strawberry treats in the ���ϲ����� Community Garden with an opportunity to win raffle prizes such as garden benches and basil pots.

"Don't Trash It!" is seeking volunteers from May 13-27. Volunteers will be collecting items from donation stations or serving as station/truck monitors.

A new resource managed by the Office of Sustainability increases potential for collaboration and continuation of work on student sustainability-related projects.

Students, faculty and staff will have an opportunity to provide input on ���ϲ�����’s Sustainability Master Plan update through April 24.
