Supporters of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law gathered March 17 for a special luncheon to recognize the collective efforts of community, civic, and philanthropic leaders who helped launch "a law school with a difference."

Students, faculty and staff gathered for morning biscuits and a lunchtime cake on March 7 as part of #ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈDay, the single-largest day of giving in ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ history.

Three students who competed together this month in the regionals of the American Bar Association's 2017 National Appellate Advocacy Competition advanced further than any ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law team from previous years.

Virginia attorney Robert J. Grey Jr. will offer wisdom to graduates on May 20, 2017, in ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law’s final springtime Commencement as the school fully transitions to its new 2.5-year curriculum.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law students built professional networks and learned more about opportunities in specific areas of law during a weeklong event welcoming more than 40 alumni back to campus.

Several student groups, in coordination with ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law's career development, alumni and admissions offices, have organized programs from Feb. 20-25 to showcase the impact and importance of diversity in the legal profession.

David L. Morrow II ’07 L’10, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s special advisor to the president and assistant chief of staff, and Gwendolyn Lewis L’13, alumni director at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law, are being honored for their professional achievements, leadership and community involvement.

Two ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law classes traveled overseas in December to witness firsthand the many opportunities - and complexities - of practicing international law and working in intellectual property.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law students will again assist taxpayers with tax preparation, at no cost, in partnership with AARP Foundation Tax-Aide. The clinic runs Feb. 2 - April 13.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Assistant Professor Cherrel Miller Dyce challenged law students to better understand their social, moral and psychological identities before confronting threats to social justice in their careers.
