OSP Grants Coordinator Jenny Chapman shares about her experience traveling with a study abroad program in Europe during Winter Term. She was among the multiple staff members selected to accompany programs this past January.

Professor of Exercise Science Eric Hall is the principal investigator on the grant, titled, “Building a meaningful mentoring program with and for Black college athletes at a predominately White institution,” and was awarded $24,665 from The Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics.

The peer-reviewed study was published in the journal Memory, and reports a novel discovery related to memory for contextual information.

The year-long program will foster civic engagement, reflect on ideals of democracy and freedom, and increase college access for Alamance County high school seniors. It is funded by a $300,000 grant from the Teagle Foundation.

The three-year. $147,570 grant will help the program to further student engagement and STEM enrichment.
