ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ has launched a new sustainability web site to provide an overview of its sustainability initiative. The site serves as a resource for the campus community to learn about sustainable practices and programs at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, to raise environmental awareness and participation, and to foster new ideas.

A team of students led by communications professor Connie Book traveled to Wilmington, N.C., on Sept. 8 to document what happened when the first American media market made the historic switch from analog to digital television.

Freshmen gathered in Alumni Gym to pledge their commitment to honesty, integrity, responsibility and respect — the foundation of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s honor code — at the university’s third Call to Honor ceremony Thursday, Sept. 11.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s Lambda Chi chapter of Beta Alpha Psi has achieved “Superior Chapter” status and was recognized by the national organization this summer as the “Most Improved Chapter” for 2008. 

“Nickelodeon: Remembering the Good Stuff” is the theme for Monday night when ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ seniors gather in Alumni Gym for the Senior Class Choice Awards, an informative and social meeting to prepare students for their final year at the university.

The Class of 2012 gathered for the first time on Aug. 30, 2008, Under the Oaks of campus for New Student Convocation, where ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ leaders encouraged freshmen to make the most of their next four years, both in and out of the classroom.

With cooler temperatures thanks in part to an overcast sky, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ welcomed its freshman class on Aug. 29 as hundreds of students moved away from home for the start of their collegiate studies.

Technology upgrades, from video cameras in parking lots to new procedures for using library computers, have enhanced campus security as students return to the university for the start of the fall semester.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ President Leo M. Lambert welcomed employees to the new academic year on Aug. 25, 2008, with a speech that lauded past accomplishments while encouraging faculty and staff to "think beyond the walls of the campus" as leaders begin work on a new strategic plan for the school.
