ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law professors Andrew Haile and Thomas Molony analyzed two recent rulings of the North Carolina Court of Appeals and one from the North Carolina Business Court as they continued their "Business Law Developments" series in the June, 2009 edition of Notes Bearing Interest, a quarterly publication of the N.C. Bar Association.

On July 3, Catherine Wasson, Associate Professor at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law, gave a presentation on assessment techniques for legal writing courses at a law conference in Pretoria, South Africa.

Through op-ed columns and television news appearances, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law professors Scott Gaylord, Andrew Haile, and Alan Woodlief recently provided analysis and evaluation of North Carolina's system for judicial elections, in response to a June 8 United States Supreme Court ruling in Caperton v. Massey Coal Co.

On June 27, the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) honored ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law's F. Leary Davis with the Judge John J. Parker Award, the association's highest honor.

In a June 21 opinion column in the News and Record of Greensboro, John Alexander, the Isabella Cannon Distinguished Visiting Professor of Leadership at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, identifies numerous benefits in the council-manager form of government and urges city and county elected bodies in the region not to abandon the government structure that has "a long and successful history in North Carolina."
