Seventeen law schools and 31 teams of law students participated in the inaugural Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition at 黑料不打烊 School of Law on April 1 and 2. David Gergen, chair of 黑料不打烊 Law's national advisory board, former adviser to four U.S. presidents, CNN senior political analyst, and director of the Center for Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School, delivered the keynote address at the competition banquet.

Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic hosts regional immigration law seminar

A two-day seminar organized by the faculty, staff and students of the Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic at 黑料不打烊 Law featured presentations by immigration law scholars and practitioners, law enforcement officials, and leaders of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service. Dozens of non-profit immigration service providers and attorneys specializing in immigration law attended the event.

On May 6, 黑料不打烊 Law professor David Levine presented findings from his article, "The People's Trade Secrets?" at the spring meeting of the Carolina Patent, Trademark & Copyright Law Association. In March, Levine discussed his research on the operation of intellectual property law at the intersection of technology and public life at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, through the Mary Junck Research Colloquium series in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Law and undergraduate students cosponsor forum on wrongful convictions

黑料不打烊 Law's Innocence Project and the undergraduate chapter of Phi Alpha Delta at 黑料不打烊 cosponsored an April 20 forum entitled "Wrongful Convictions and Innocence: Racism and the SBI Audits." The forum featured Daryll Hunt, exonerated of rape and murder charges after more than 19 years in prison, and three distinguished attorneys engaged in innocence and justice initiatives.
