1L Career Services Orientation for Cohorts A and C

The Public Interest Law Society and the Office of Career Services invite members of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law community to a panel discussion on pro bono service in private practice. The panel will take place from 5:30-6:15 pm in room 207, with a reception to follow from 6:15-7:15 in Cemala Commons.

In partnership with the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law, - the young professionals initiative of - is hosting a series of educational events to engage the young professional community with the Greensboro City Government. The Local Government Education Series will explore regional economic development and the structure of local government at two luncheons, followed by a City Council Candidates Forum presented with the Greensboro Partnership.

On Sept. 22, the Women's Law Society (WLA) hosted its annual "Little Black Dress" party. The event creates an opportunity for WLA's leadership to introduce new members to the group.

The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law Sports & Entertainment Law Society, together with the law school's Office of Career Services, hosted a Sports & Entertainment Law panel on Oct. 10. The event was moderated by Visiting Professor of Law David Maraghy, CEO of Sports Management International, Inc.

On Sept. 19, Professor Ronald Rychlak of the University of Mississipi School of Law spoke to ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law students about the International Criminal Court (ICC) and how it affects international conflicts and peace negotiations. ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law's Federalist Society organized the event.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law's Hooper Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta (PAD) received two national awards in September at the Phi Alpha Delta District XXV Conference. The awards were: The Most Outstanding Chapter in District XXV for the 2010-11 Academic Year and The "Meet or Beat Recruitment Award" for the 2010-11 Academic Year.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law professors Michael Rich, Sonya Garza and Andy Haile published an op-ed article in the Sunday, Sept. 25 edition of the News & Record arguing that, "our Constitution is not a place for provisions that marginalize minorities or restrict liberties."

Marking the school's first five years and the achievement of full approval from the American Bar Association, a broad spectrum of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law community came together for an evening of celebration on Oct. 6.
