The director of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law's Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic visited Nairobi for presentations on March 22-23, 2016, focused on her educational work and advocacy efforts in the United States. 

Meghan Smith and Jackson Barnes, second year ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law students, were recognized for their exemplary professionalism at the Eighth Annual Charleston School of Law National Moot Court Competition on March 18-19, 2016. Smith and Jackson won the competition's Professionalism Award, selected by the Charleston Moot Court Board as the team best representing professional integrity, courtesy, and esteem throughout the competition.  

Luke Bierman, dean of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law, offered the following statement regarding the nomination of Merrick Garland, chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, to the United States Supreme Court. 

The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law Review's latest volume includes articles examining the dissent in the Supreme Court's historic Obergefell v. Hodges decision,  the reasoning of a U.S. Court of Appeals in a book banning case and the lack of clarity in parts of the Americans with Disabilities Act. 

Professor and author Danielle Keats Citron delivered the spring keynote address Thursday night in ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Lecture program, which aims to promote healthy relationships between young men and women and prevent domestic violence.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law's 2016 Commencement ceremony will feature Judge Albert Diaz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. 

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law welcomed North Carolina Court of Appeals Judges Rick Elmore, Lucy Inman and J. Douglass McCullough on March 9 as they presided over cases in ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s Robert E. Long Courtroom and met with law students following Court proceedings.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law student Angelique Ryan has been named one of the country’s 25 law students of the year by National Jurist magazine. 

The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law Review's March 4 symposium enabled law scholars and international business and nonprofit leaders to probe the implications of corporate and government use of consumer and citizen data on privacy laws, as well as how the Fourth Amendment functions in the twenty first century and how it should function in the future.
