The university's top undergraduate research award comes with $20,000 to support and celebrate academic and creative achievements.

At its annual awards celebration on April 10 in Turner Theatre, the School of Communications recognized outstanding student accomplishments, presented its Outstanding Senior Awards, and honored this year’s Kappa Tau Alpha honor society inductees.

The former ���ϲ����� volleyball player and journalism major has carved out a rising career as an associate producer for ESPN’s “30 for 30” documentary series, blending her athletic insight with a passion for long-form storytelling.

Supported by faculty mentors, the student participation showcased ���ϲ�����’s strong academic presence and commitment to undergraduate research in journalism and communications.

Forty-six Fellows participated in the annual Sunshine State trip, visiting communication companies, meeting industry professionals, and honing their networking skills.

The North Carolina Open Government Coalition announced its 2025 Sunshine Awards at the fourth annual NC News & Information Summit, honoring six outstanding journalists for their commitment to transparency and investigative reporting.

The journalism and media analytics double major will investigate illegal hammerhead shark fishing in Costa Rica, a country deeply connected to her heritage.

In addition to this recognition, ENN earned seven other individual and organizational Apple Awards, highlighting excellence in crisis coverage, opinion writing, photography, and multimedia journalism.

The ACC commissioner headlined the 2025 Sport Management Symposium, where he addressed key issues in college athletics, including NIL policies, the House v. NCAA settlement, and transfer portal challenges, while advocating for standardized rules and student-athlete development.

Presented by the School of Communications Inclusive Excellence Committee, the interactive event brought together students, faculty, staff and alumni to discuss a broad range of issues related to inclusivity in communications, journalism and the media.
