Colonnades, ���ϲ����� News Network and Phi Psi Cli collect 11 first-place awards, as well as three Best of Shows, at the annual North Carolina College Media Association gathering hosted on Feb. 26.

The former ���ϲ����� women’s basketball team captain and current Milwaukee Bucks reporter was honored in the “Outstanding Crafts Achievement On-Camera Talent” category for her work with Bally Sports Wisconsin. The 2015 alumna made history when she became the first woman to call play-by-play for the reigning NBA champions.

In conjunction with the Student Professional Development Center, the School of Communications hosted the COM Meet and Greet on Feb. 22, attracting seven organizations representing a variety of communications-related industries.

The virtual event presented by the School of Communications featured several of the top communications programs in the country.

The ���ϲ����� junior and executive director of ���ϲ����� News Network has joined student journalists from across the country to participate in a national reporting project focused on policing and justice.

As part of Associate Professor David Bockino’s Through the Lens of ESPN class, 13 students traveled to Spain to tour four soccer stadiums – all legendary and impressive in their own way – while also participating in marketing meetings with three of the country’s top clubs.

Established in 2018 in recognition of Paul Parsons' 17 years of service as founding dean of the School of Communications, the scholarship is awarded to rising seniors with a strong academic record.

The student media members participated in small, community-focused sessions about mental health and diversity, equity and inclusion in the newsroom.

During a mid-November visit, the award-winning foreign correspondent met with classes, student media and the campus community to share her reporting experiences in Afghanistan and the Middle East.

The ���ϲ����� junior will serve alongside five other members, including Assistant Professor Israel Balderas, who is the newly appointed chair of the Legal Defense Fund.
