Together@���ϲ����� events for ���ϲ����� faculty and staff kicked off with kayaking on the Haw River in the end of June.

Members of the ���ϲ����� community are invited to commemorate Juneteenth with an in-person or virtual walking tour honoring this significant federal holiday and exploring lesser-known histories of the Black community at ���ϲ�����.

With programs scheduled for June 19 that include a walking tour and a lunch-and-learn, organizers answer questions about the historical roots and impact of a national observance that commemorates the emancipation of the last enslaved African Americans in the United States.

The inaugural director of inclusive excellence for graduate and professional education, Laké Laosebikan-Buggs fosters belonging in ���ϲ�����’s graduate programs. She will be recognized by the Triad Business Journal at a June 12 banquet and featured in a special issue later this month.

Celebrations such as the First-Generation Stole Ceremony, Celebremos!: Graduates Take Flight, Donning of the Kente, and Lavender Graduation highlighted the achievements of students who embraced, and were embraced by, communities of support throughout their college experience.

���ϲ����� celebrated over 60 first-generation students, the largest to date, during an inspiring stole ceremony on May 21 that highlighted the strength, support and achievement of the first-gen community.

This initiative exemplifies ���ϲ�����’s dedication to inclusive excellence and the ongoing pursuit of equitable teaching practices that support all learners.
