Maurice “Bear” Tosé II has been selected for the two-year paid fellowship that is awarded to an individual who demonstrates an interest in philanthropy, public policy, community service and the nonprofit sector. 

Two faculty members and four undergraduate researchers in psychology presented at the Southeastern Psychological Association conference held in Charleston, S.C.

Sociology major Jensen Collins ’18 won the North Carolina Sociological Association's Himes Student Paper Award and presented her research at its annual conference.

Thirteen ���ϲ����� students traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, March 2-4 for the Southeastern Commission for the Study of Religion (SECSOR), the annual regional meeting of the American Academy of Religion and the Society of Biblical Literature.  Six of the students presented undergraduate research mentored by professors from the Department of Religious Studies, while the other seven observed in preparation for presenting in the future.

The annual trip helps build community among first-year Honors Fellows while they work in service of others.

���ϲ����� physics major Helen Meskhidze '16 co-authored a research publication with Assistant Professor of Physics Chris Richardson for the journal Astrophysics and Space Science

Stefanie Miller '17 and Mary Alice Allnutt '18 received awards from the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the National Institutes of Health, respectively.

Sociology major Jensen Collins ’18 traveled to the American Sociological Association’s annual meeting to present research and participate in the ASA Honors Program in Montréal, Canada.
