Seventy-five posters were presented by students in the School of Health Sciences as part of its Annual Global Engagement and Research Forum on Dec. 8 in the Alumni Gym.

Mike McCormack G’25, Devron Felder G’25 and Samir Halalou G’25 call themselves the ‘Room Dogs,’ after an impromptu nickname created a laugh for the three. But now, as the Physician Assistant Studies students prepare to graduate, their bond has become more than a nickname.

As Raya Coley G’25 prepares to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy on Dec. 12, she is reflecting on the relationships and skills learned, but also the goal she set for herself in the field, both to help others and be a model for other Black women in the field.

After years of teaching in the classroom, Sarah Jenkins ’25 is hanging it up and putting on the scrubs as she earns a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree through ���ϲ�����’s accelerated program.

���ϲ�����’s Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies Program celebrated its Class of 2026 in a November program that symbolized a transition from classroom learning to a series of clinical rotations over the next year.

The funding for a community-based initiative in the university's Physician Assistant Studies graduate program will expand medically based STEM curriculum for students in the Alamance-Burlington School System and strengthen research mentorship.
