ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ President Leo M. Lambert and Student Government Association President Joe Incorvia offered gratitude Tuesday to dozens of employees who worked around the clock this year to keep the university running at the height of winter storms.

The campus community gathered Tuesday morning in the Numen Lumen Pavilion to celebrate the life of Ed Watkins, an auto mechanic who died April 18 while fishing with a friend from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s Physical Plant.

Workers spent Tuesday morning planting a tree in a campus grove known as Under the Oaks after a winter ice storm last month led to the removal of a tree that predated ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's founding.

Due to Spring Break, all Bio Buses, except for the Downtown/East Burlington Route, will stop service on Friday, March 21 at 5:00pm.  

With power back to residence halls, workers are focusing efforts on debris removal, tree trimming and building repairs after ice and snow wreaked havoc on what was scheduled to be one of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s busiest weekends of the spring.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s Black History Month Steering Committee is recognizing physical plant workers, program assistants, and faculty & administrative staff members in a series of College Coffee presentations throughout February.

The university has received a STARS Silver rating from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.

Eight new locations on campus make it even more convenient for students, faculty and staff to properly recycle broken or unwanted electronic equipment.

Per student and per square foot, the university's greenhouse gas emissions continue to decrease from initial data collected for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's first such inventory in 2008.
