The chair of the Journalism Department teamed with School of Communications faculty members Julie Lellis, Doug Kass and Brooks Fuller to produce an introductory media writing textbook specific to the needs of the school’s students.

The author of "Biased: Uncovering the Hidden Prejudice That Shapes What We See, Think, and Do," joined the ���ϲ����� community for a live discussion of the university's Common Reading selection on Sept. 9.

���ϲ����� will welcome Eberhardt for a virtual presentation at 7:30 p.m. ���ϲ����� students, faculty and staff as well as members of the public can view the event at www.elon.edu/live.

Surveys this spring showed that students' appreciation of writing — and their perception of its power to change themselves and the world — grew after classes went remote. English 110 is a First Year Foundations course and part of the Core Curriculum.

The 2019 book by Eberhardt, a Stanford University professor and MacArthur ‘Genius’ Grant recipient, takes on additional meaning this year amid widespread protests against racism and oppression.
