A new course introduced ���ϲ����� Academy students to an international teaching team and fostered cross-cultural connections.

From friendships and community to personal growth and support, students shared what has stood out most during their time at ���ϲ�����.

At the 2026 PACE (Pathways to Achieving Civic Engagement) Conference hosted by ���ϲ�����, first-year ���ϲ����� student, Odyssey Program scholar and ���ϲ����� Academy alumna Berenice Sanchez Rosaldo ’20 presented alongside faculty and community leaders on how community storytelling can foster civic engagement.

As ���ϲ����� Academy enters its twentieth year, the Phi Cohort represents more than a record-breaking class size. These 30 students embody the promise, potential, and perseverance that have defined ���ϲ����� Academy since its founding.

���ϲ�����’s college access and success program recognized several Alamance County high school seniors and four recent college graduates - also alumni of the ���ϲ����� Academy - during a May ceremony hosted by President Connie Ledoux Book.

Applications are now open for the next cohort of ���ϲ����� Academy students, with faculty and staff invited to help expand access to the college access and success program.

Jasmine Walker ’25 grew up in Alamance County and now, through ���ϲ�����’s Year of Service Fellows Program, she’s getting the opportunity to give back and learn from her community.

Scholars in the ���ϲ����� Academy engaged in a winter service project for Alamance County Allied Churches, reflecting a renewed commitment to integrating community service and well-being into ���ϲ����� Academy's programming.

Manny Campos and Stephanie Hernández Rivera completed the LatinxEd Fellowship, a statewide program focused on educational access and equity. Both returned to ���ϲ����� with renewed purpose shaped by the retreat and graduation experiences.

For Edward Hernandez ’27, legacy is rooted in family, heritage and community. From leading LHU and El Centro to mentoring future scholars, his ���ϲ����� journey reflects the power of giving back and the importance of celebrating Hispanic and Latinx voices.
