An entrepreneurship camp sponsored by the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and led by David Jackson, an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship and business, was featured June 25, 2011, in a front-page story in the (Burlington, N.C.) Times-News.

Haya Ajjan, an assistant professor of management information systems, and Gary Palin, executive director of the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and senior lecturer of entrepreneurship in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, presented a June 17 workshop in the 2011 International Council for Small Business World Conference in Stockholm, Sweden.

Michelle Ferrier, an associate professor in the School of Communications, and Gary Palin, executive director of the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and senior lecturer of entrepreneurship in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, conducted a workshop on journalism entrepreneurship and experiments in diversity at the International Council for Small Business in Stockholm, Sweden on June 16. The workshop, “Emerging Journalism Innovations and the Role of the Academy,” examines media entrepreneurship and curricular and process-driven solutions.

Innovators from across the country gathered June 2-5 at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro for a four-day journalism event hosted by Journalism That Matters and supported by ���ϲ�����’s School of Communications, the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at ���ϲ����� and UNC-Greensboro.

The 2011 Bloomberg Businessweek rankings of top undergraduate business schools by specialty rates ���ϲ����� #19 in the nation for entrepreneurship and #22 for sustainability.

Alexa Carlin, vice president of finance for the ���ϲ����� student entrepreneurship club Student Entrepreneurial Enterprise Development (SEED) and a freshman entrepreneurship major, addressed an audience of more than 100 participants on Feb. 11 at the 3rd annual University Entrepreneurship Summit of North Carolina in Greensboro, N.C.

���ϲ�����'s Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership has been selected as an entrant endorser for the 2011 MassChallenge because of its deep involvement in the global entrepreneurial ecosystem. MassChallenge is running the largest global startup competition to catalyze the launch and success of high-growth, high-impact new businesses. The $1 million competition will launch on March 7, 2011.
