Students studying leisure and sports management at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ raised $10,000 during the fall with fundraisers and volunteer service for various causes, including the North Carolina Electric Wheelchair Hockey Association and the Open Door Clinic of Alamance County.

A team of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ broadcast and new media majors are in New Orleans gathering interviews and documenting the importance of radio during Hurricane Katrina for inclusion in a forthcoming book about the way radio stations joined together in the 2005 storm's aftermath.

Sophomore journalism major Angie Lovelace, freshman broadcast major Nick Ochsner and Colin Donohue, coordinator of student media in the School of Communications, traveled Jan. 10, 2008, to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for the GOP debate in a joint project between The Pendulum and Phoenix14News.
