ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is one of a dozen universities where students this fall will be eligible to enter original screenplays in the nationwide Sprite Refreshing Films™ contest or apply to direct one of the six short films chosen for production. Students are invited to the formal kick-off that takes place at 4:15 p.m. Monday in Studio B of the School of Communications.

The School of Communications will hold its second annual Alumni Wisdom Session titled "ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ 2.0: Success after ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ" and alumni reception starting at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22 in Studio B in the McEwen Communications building.

"Visualizing Multiculturalism," an exhibition of student art, debuted to the public Oct. 22 in the Multiculturalism Center at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, and work from School of Communications students was on display. The traveling exhibition, which also featured artwork from students at North Carolina A&T State University, will also be shown at the Center for Visual Artists in downtown Greensboro, N.C., and the Frazier Student Art Gallery on the campus of North Carolina A&T.

In what has become a Homecoming tradition for successful young alumni, graduates of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business and the School of Communications shared career tips and life advice Friday in "wisdom sessions" for current students as part of Homecoming 2010. Alumni from the School of Education held a similar program Saturday morning prior to the official start of football festivities around campus.

Doug Kass, an instructor in the School of Communications, won two national Telly Awards in the 31st Annual Telly Awards Competition for a series of television commercials he wrote and directed.

David Copeland, A.J. Fletcher Professor in the School of Communications, recently presented a research paper at the annual American Journalism Historians Association Convention in Tucson, Ariz.
