School of Communications alumni offer their expertise to students

The 2016 NABJ and NAHJ Annual Convention and Career Fair in Washington, D.C., brought together nearly 4,000 current and aspiring media professionals, including four ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students and seven alumni.

Barbara Miller Gaither, associate professor of communications, explored corporate social responsibility initiatives and public perception in her recent study, titled “Redefining Fit: Examining CSR Company-Issue Fit in Stigmatized Industries.”

Construction continues at Dwight C. Schar Hall and Steers Pavilion, with both expected to open in the fall. 

Casey Hekker ’11 is among the growing number of professionals who prefer to use technology to work from anywhere in the world.

The cinema and television arts major enlisted the services of more than a dozen ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ friends and collaborators to help produce a 30-second film that captures the emotions of the movie-going experience for the 2016 Coca-Cola and Regal Film Program.

During the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication’s 2016 national convention, 13 School of Communications faculty members presented research, shared professional experiences and directed topical discussions.
