The ���ϲ����� Board of Trustees met on Feb. 20 and granted tenure and approved promotions for several faculty members.

During the recent meeting of the Board of Trustees, Slattery was selected to serve a four-year term on the board.

Elizabeth “Liz” Kwon L’23 will be the first alumna of an ���ϲ����� graduate program to serve a two-year term on the governing board that advances the university’s mission by overseeing its health, strategic direction, educational policy, and finances and operations.

The trustee and philanthropist named Sankey Hall on ���ϲ�����’s campus in honor of his father.

Elizabeth Shum ‘27 is gaining professional experience with her first internship at the U.S. Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C. It’s an invaluable opportunity early in her ���ϲ����� career, hosted by The Fund for American Studies, and funded by the 2024 DeJoy-Woś Scholarship.

Allen was given the ���ϲ����� Medallion during a ceremony on Friday, April 19, that also included naming a residence hall in the Colonnades Neighborhood after him.

���ϲ����� President Connie Ledoux Book presented the medallion to a longtime member of the university's Board of Trustees and a retired staff member during an event marking the start of a new academic year. The university also recognized three named professorships during the event.

The 2023 ���ϲ����� graduate from Walnut Cove, N.C., will serve a two-year term on the ���ϲ����� Board of Trustees.

The longtime trustee and Alamance County community leader passed away on May 5, 2023.

Means is currently an associate professor at University of Pittsburgh's School of Education and has a goal to build networks that focus on addressing racial, class, spatial inequities and injustices in education.
