While attending MediaFest25 in Washington, D.C., a group of ���ϲ����� journalism students joined alumni for an evening of professional networking and mentorship.

Co-leads of a merger Sprint Team comprised of administrative and academic leaders from ���ϲ����� and Queens University of Charlotte report several themes are emerging that represent exciting possibilities for students, faculty, staff and the Charlotte region.

A daylong gathering on ���ϲ�����'s campus included a campus tour for the guests from Queens as well as a series of roundtable discussions.

Join the Gender & LGBTQIA Center and the ���ϲ����� LGBTQIA Alumni Network for an inspiring celebration of love, family, and storytelling as alumni authors Jeffrey and Corddarryl Williamson-Rose share their children’s book "We Love You ForAva." The book is a powerful reflection on LGBTQIA family-building and the beauty of inclusive stories.

Inspired by her sister’s recovery, Carmencita Rosales ’20 discovered her passion for storytelling at ���ϲ����� and turned it into a thriving career as a bilingual journalist and TV host. From launching WSOE’s first Spanish-language show to creating Tu Cita con Carmencita, she brings energy, resilience and representation to every story she tells.

���ϲ����� President Connie Ledoux Book and Queens University of Charlotte Acting President Jesse Cureton describe in campus messages on Oct. 23, 2025, how "our colleagues are forming new bonds and reaffirming the values that unite us: student-centered learning, a commitment to academic excellence and a deep history of advancing our communities."

Guided by curiosity and a passion for storytelling, Lillian Engel ’19 turned her love of editing at ���ϲ����� into a thriving Hollywood career. From campus projects to major films like "Extraction" and "Joker: Folie à Deux," she embodies the power of hands-on learning, persistence and community.

���ϲ�����’s “deep sense of commitment” to student success inspired Trustee Debra Del Vecchio P’22 P’24 to generously contribute to the center that will integrate academics, wellness, campus recreation and fitness programs to ensure students gain the skills they need to thrive on campus and beyond.

At the nation’s largest college media convention, held this fall in Washington, D.C., ���ϲ����� journalism students earned multiple honors recognizing their reporting and creative work.
