Sowande’ Mustakeem ’00, author of “Slavery at Sea: Terror, Sex and Sickness in the Middle Passage,” shares her story of loss, triumph and success, since graduating as ���ϲ�����’s first African & African-American Studies major.

���ϲ����� Performing Arts' workshop premiere of the new musical was rehearsed and filmed last fall. It was co-written by ���ϲ����� alumnus and faculty member Dan Gibson MTE '10 and is ���ϲ�����'s first filmed musical.

Paula DiBiasio, associate professor in physical therapy and GLO program coordinator, and Danielle Lake, director of design thinking and associate professor, are partnering with Doctor of Physical Therapy program students and Global Learning Opportunities (GLO) program alumni to co-design the future of GLO. DiBiasio envisions a more flexible program that positively impacts healthcare disparities by promoting students’ development of skills related to engaging with difference sensitively and equitably.

Despite her initial hesitancy to work in politics, the ���ϲ����� alumna and former multimedia journalist has found the right position for her skillset and faith, as well as a politician and message she believes in.

Watts is ���ϲ�����’s first alum to be nominated for a Tony Award, receiving praise for his breakout performance as Ike Turner in “Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.”

Speakers representing the NBA, NFL, MLB, ACC and Minor League Baseball discussed their experiences in the sports industry and highlighted the value of a diverse work force.
