Twenty-four students met with communications professionals and alumni, receiving a behind-the-scenes look at the operations of several media organizations.

A pair of communications faculty members and a senior discussed the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ News Network, which was recognized with several awards at the College Media Association gathering.

The Oct. 27 discussion between Yasmine Arrington '15, the founder of ScholarCHIPS and a Peace First fellow, and Secretary John B. King Jr. was broadcast live on Facebook. 

David Kennedy G’10 visited with this year’s Master of Arts in Interactive Media cohort, discussing his own experiences in the graduate program as well as his role creating themes for WordPress, responsible for about 25 percent of websites around the world.

The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ journalism major and former Pendulum editor-in-chief started the Hearst Corp.’s two-year fellowship program in August, assigned to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Reunion volunteers planned special events and helped raise more than $3.1 million for the university this year

Two alumni and a student also lead sessions at the conference, which was held Oct. 20-23 in Washington, D.C.

The 1998 alumnus was installed as a trustee during the board’s fall meeting, held Oct. 21-22 on the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ campus.

The annual awards are sponsored by the Young Alumni Council and honor deserving alumni who have graduated within the past decade. 

The restored antique chandelier that had previously hung in Old Main, the school’s administration building destroyed by fire in 1923, adorns the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ campus once again.
