Trustee Shelly Skeens Hazel ’78 and her family advance university priorities to deepen scholarship funding and enhance ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s iconic campus. 

Today all members of the worldwide ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ community are invited to participate in this day-long celebration by making a gift to the university and sharing their ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ pride on social media. 

Feel good this holiday season by supporting ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ and you will receive a special thank you. Everyone who makes a gift from June 1 to Dec. 31 will receive a commemorative 2019 ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ calendar.

Alumni volunteers worked with ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ to coordinate fundraising efforts and host special events on campus during Homecoming weekend, Nov. 2-4.

The social gathering space for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ fans is made possible through generous gifts from Glen Raven Inc. and ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Trustee Allen E. Gant Jr. and his wife, Denise. The club's official opening is for the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ men's basketball game against the University of North Carolina on Friday, Nov. 9.

The building dedication during Homecoming offered the opportunity to express gratitude for supporters of the project including ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ parents Jim and Beth Sankey of Charlotte, N.C. The building is named for Jim Sankey's father, a business leader in Canton, Ohio, who passed away in 2013. 

The official groundbreaking offered an opportunity to recognize the contributions of donors to the 80-room inn adjacent to the Koury Business Center that will open next fall. 

During a donor appreciation event on the arena's main floor on Friday, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ celebrated the generosity and vision of the nearly 30 families, individuals and businesses whose gifts made the convocation center possible. 

The generous gift from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Trustee Louis DeJoy and his wife, Dr. Aldona Wos, of Greensboro, North Carolina, will assist students with exceptional ability and high financial need from Title I schools in Guilford County.
