ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law will launch a fully redesigned curriculum in fall 2015, better positioning students to excel in the rapidly evolving legal profession.

Comprised of 112 students, representing 21 states, and 74 colleges and universities, the ninth entering class at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law began immediately to learn and make an impact through community service and intellectual exchanges during orientation week, held August 18-22.

Delivering the Call to Honor at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law’s new student convocation, nationally prominent lawyer Robert J. Grey, Jr. underscored for members of the Class of 2017 the importance of law to democracy and justice to the United States.

An April 23 News & Record article examines the special role that the North Carolina Business Court plays in the education of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law students. ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is one of the few law schools in the country to house a working court.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ has named Luke Bierman, a highly accomplished attorney, legal scholar and teacher, and national leader in experiential legal education, to be the next dean of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law. 

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law Professor Steve Friedland, who was featured as one of the nation’s 26 best law teachers in a recent book, shares insights about effective teaching in the December 4 edition of North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.

More than $200 million in building projects are slated for development within blocks of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law, providing several new cultural, educational and recreational opportunities for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law students, faculty and staff. An October 20 News & Record article reports on eleven major projects moving forward in downtown Greensboro, including a performing arts center, a downtown university center, an urban greenway, a new park, a new hotel and several apartment complexes.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is one of five law schools profiled for “getting serious about business skills” in the National Law Journal’s September 23 special report on law schools. 

The Hon. Henry E. Frye, a founding member of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law School Advisory Board and former Chief Justice of the N.C. Supreme Court, delivered the Call to Honor address on Aug. 13, formally welcoming 109 students as the Class of 2016 at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law.

The Leadership Program at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law has been named a 2013 recipient of the American Bar Association’s E. Smythe Gambrell Professionalism Award.
