This fall ���ϲ�����’s “It Takes a Village Project” was able to work with 11 of the 12 Title I elementary schools in the Alamance-Burlington School System thanks to a grant from the Oak Foundation.

The Power and Place Collaborative's second collection of digital stories documenting the lives of Alamance County's Black community premiered Dec. 4 and are available at its website and through the African American Cultural Arts and History Center.

The Power and Place Collaborative is a partnership between ���ϲ�����, Burlington's Mayco Bigelow Center, and the African American Cultural Arts and History Center. Students interviewed community members and edited their oral histories into short videos.

Physician assistant students in ���ϲ�����'s "underserved populations" course worked with 20 ABSS middle and high schoolers for the fall 2021 to increase the interest of potentially pursuing a career medicine among young minority men.

���ϲ�����'s idea was to create “Junior Journalism,” a program in partnership with Alamance-Burlington School System in which ���ϲ����� students and third-grade students come together to learn about local government and journalism.

Josey, a business analytics major, has been recognized by North Carolina Campus Compact for outstanding leadership and service.

The inaugural Discover Dance with ���ϲ����� event took place Saturday, Nov. 13 and provided North Carolina high school students with the opportunity to learn several types of dance forms.

To address the ever-increasing popularity of commercial and recreational drone use, as well as examine related safety rules and regulations, the School of Communications hosted the inaugural ���ϲ����� Drone Day, attracting nearly 110 attendees to campus on Nov. 8.

���ϲ����� students cast ballots at a rate higher than the national average during the 2020 elections and were significantly more engaged in the election than they were four years before.

The university was selected for the list from a pool of more than 800 schools and recognized for its sustainability-related policies, practices and programs.
