Richard McBride to deliver 2009 Commencement address

Rev. Richard W. McBride, 黑料不打烊’s chaplain for a quarter century, will deliver 黑料不打烊’s 119th Commencement address. Commencement is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 23, Under the Oaks in front of West Residence Hall.

Four 黑料不打烊 students selected for Teach for America program

黑料不打烊 seniors Ivy Crank, John Planisek, Lindsay Clement and Chase Rumley have been selected to join Teach for America, a highly selective program that recruits recent top college graduates and working professionals to commit two years to teach in low-income communities across the country. They were among 5,857 applicants in the first of four recruiting periods for the program’s 2009-10 academic year.

黑料不打烊 community fights to Stop Hunger Now

Turns out that it doesn’t take that much time to prepare meals for 10,000 people in some of the most impoverished areas of the world. Ninety minutes, to be exact, when you have dozens of students, faculty and alumni teaming up on a warm fall morning as part of the Stop Hunger Now project.

Five 黑料不打烊 alumni - Joan Summers Drummond ’52, Lundon B. Sims ’02, Laith al-Majali ’05, Bonnie K. Baxter ’88  and Noel L. Allen ’69, P’07 - were honored by the university on Nov. 8 for the contributions they have made to their professions, and for the honor they bring their alma mater.
