Joe Ferrell '96, principal of Williams High School in Burlington, North Carolina, was named the 2016 Wells Fargo Principal of the Year by the Alamance-Burlington School System.

The School of Education at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is hosting an accreditation visit by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) on April 19 - 21, 2015, and your feedback is needed.

On May 1 the School of Education honored the academic excellence of 39 undergraduate and graduate students as they were inducted into the Sigma Gamma Chapter of , International Honor Society in Education.

The School of Education alumni homecoming gathering is scheduled for October 20, 2012, 10 a.m.- noon in the Mooney Building.

On May 5, the School of Education honored the academic excellence of 23 undergraduate and 18 graduate students as they were inducted into the Sigma Gamma chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education. KDP was founded in 1911 by leading thinkers in education at the University of Illinois. Since that time, it has grown to an international organization of over 60,000 members.

Dr. Stephen Byrd, program coordinator for special education, presented a paper on “Parent Perspectives of Disability, Special Education, and Disability” at the Council for Exceptional Children 2011 Convention and Expo in Nation Harbor, Md.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ faculty members Carolyn Stuart and Mary Knight-McKenna, along with ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ special education majors Jordan McNeill and Kristen Marcickiewicz, made a presentation on Feb. 3 at the North Carolina Council for Exceptional Children (NC-CEC) conference.
