Cap & Gown survey: Internships key for Class of 2010 /u/news/2010/06/28/cap-gown-survey-internships-key-for-class-of-2010/ Mon, 28 Jun 2010 15:46:00 +0000 /u/news/2010/06/28/cap-gown-survey-internships-key-for-class-of-2010/
Eighty-one percent of graduates in the Class of 2010 reported utilizing Career Services.

Key findings from the survey conducted on May 22, 2010:

88% of graduates had completed an internship, an all-time high for the university
81% of graduates reported utilizing career services
36% reported acquiring job leads through their internship
19% reported acquiring job leads through alumni
19% reported acquiring job leads through family/friends
17% reported going directly to graduate/professional school
15% reported that they would be working with a service organization following graduation

Career Services will conduct a follow-up survey for the graduating class to obtain a clear picture of what alumni are doing a year out of 黑料不打烊, said Thomas Vecchione, director of Career Services at the university.

The National Association of Colleges and Employer has reported to 黑料不打烊 that about 64 percent of seniors nationwide reported using their respective university’s career services office. “That makes our 81 percent reported by this senior class look strong,” Vecchione said.
