The Department of Physical Therapy Education was well-represented at the national conference by its third-year DPT students, alumni and faculty members.

Second-year DPT students Sarah Henderson and Brandi Wiltshire won the American College of Sports Medicine Biomechanics Interest Group Student Research Award.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ faculty and students from Departments of Physical Therapy Education, Exercise Science and Performing Arts partnered with educational institutions in India to virtually conduct the first National Biomechanics Day event in India.

In a research study that was done completely virtually and funded by the Parkinson’s Foundation, Department of Performing Arts in collaboration with Department of Physical Therapy Education successfully offered classes based on the Mark Morris Dance for Parkinson’s Disease program virtually to five individuals.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's Doctor of Physical Therapy program was represented well at the American College of Sports Medicine 2017 Conference in Denver, CO. Haley Hawkins, a 2nd year DPT student also won a travel scholarship at the Conference.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ DPTE was well represented with 10 posters at the 63rd Annual Meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine in Boston, MA held between May 31 - June 4th

The DPTE research was recently presented at the Human Movement Science Conference in Chapel Hill, N.C., in the form of five poster presentations.

The DPTE research was recently presented at the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections meeting in Anaheim, Calif., in the form of eight posters and one platform presentation.

Sixteen groups presented their research work in the form of posters at the Francis Center.

 

Dr. Elizabeth Corwin who graduated from the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ DPTE program in 2014 presented her research at the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science 25th Annual Meeting held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
