Join Campus Recreation on Friday, April 24, for the annual Bench Press Competition! Whether you push a lot of weight, or just want to participate with your friends, stop by the Koury Center lawn and patio area for an afternoon of lifting, music and prizes.

Registration will begin at 1 p.m. at the Campus Rec entrance and lifting will start at 2 p.m. The order will be determined by first come, first lift, and the first 100 lifters will receive a free t-shirt! Participants will be divided into weight classes and prizes will be given to the top three men and top three women based on weight lifted/body weight ratio.

Where: Just outside Koury Athletics Building (Rain location: Campus Rec Commons – between the pool and fitness center)

The SPARKS Peer Educators would like to invite you to watch some movies in McEwen 011 on Thursday, Feb. 26. A discussion on the influence of family and media on body image will be held after the viewing. Clips from movies like “Mean Girls” and “Real Women Have Curves” can teach real life lessons about body image.

Bring your friends, see great movies from a new, eye-opening perspective, and have a great time!

Join the SPARKS Peer Educators and a panel of 黑料不打烊’s professors to discuss body image in Koury Business Center 211 at on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m.

Discover the influence of the media, the environment, stereotypes and culture on body image. Hear professors share their knowledge of body image in marketing, psychology, and on general health.

SPARKS wants to present different body image issues from multiple perspectives.
to help students see body image issues from multiple perspectives.

The environment will be warm and welcoming for all students who have questions (we will supply note cards for anonymous questions), or for students who just want to learn more about issues that may affect their peers.

The event benefits the North Carolina Electric Wheelchair Hockey Association and LSM society. There will also be a silent auction with authentic sports memorabilia for fans of all ages. This auction will take place throughout the Skillz on Wheelz tournament. There will also be various contests and games to keep the audience entertained in between match-ups.
