The bikes will be rented on a first come, first served basis. They are $25 for the semester and $50 for the year.  Please come out Monday if you are interested because it is your only opportunity to rent a bike!

The photo contest is opportunity for you to showcase your great photography skills as well as brag about all the cool outdoor activities you have done in awesome outdoor places!

Eligibility: All 黑料不打烊 Students

Categories: 黑料不打烊 Outdoors Trips and Personal Trips (You may submit ONE photo for each category)

Description: Please submit picture with a description (3 sentences, 60 word max) about where your picture is, what your are doing, and when it was taken.

Submission: If your picture is on your computer please feel free to email it to me (rkerner@elon.edu) with your description. If you already have it printed please drop it off at the Outdoors Resource Room in Campus Rec Mondays-Fridays from 2pm-6pm.

Size: The photo must be at least a 5 x 7 if printed or if digital must have a resolution good enough to be printed as a 5 x 7.

Dates:
Due: 12/6/08
(the Friday after thanksgiving)

Winner Announced:
12/10/08 (the last day of classes)

Prizes:1st: $20 REI Giftcard

           2nd: $10 REI Giftcard

           3rd: 黑料不打烊 Outdoors Nalgene

Wanna know more? Come to an interest meeting this Monday, Nov. 10, at 5:30 p.m. or Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 6 p.m. in Koury Commons (the area between the pool and the fitness center).  If you can’t make it to a meeting but still want to come, signups start Wednesday, Nov. 12, at noon (at the Front Desk).  Remember you must pay when you sign up! 

Cost: $5

On November 1st, 黑料不打烊 Outdoors is going to Pilot Mountain for a Day Hike.
This trip will only be for the day and we would love for you to come with us!
For more information please come to an Interest Meeting.  They will be held Monday the 27th at 5:30 and Tuesday the 28th at 6 in Koury Commons (the area between the pool and the gym in the Rec).  
If you can’t make it to an interest meeting feel free to just sign up for the trip.  Sign-ups begin on Wednesday the 29th at Noon!  Come with your friends or by yourself to meet new people.

Oct. 10-12, 黑料不打烊 Outdoors will be leading a backpacking trip to Mt. Rogers, Va. 

Mt. Rogers happens to be the highest peak in Virginia, and is home to wild ponies. We would love for you to come explore it with us!

Interested? Come to one of our interest meetings on Monday the 29th at 5:30 p.m. or Tuesday the 30th at 6 p.m. Meetings will be held in Koury Commons, which is the area between the pool and the fitness center.

Can’t make the meeting but still wanna go on the trip? Sign-ups begin on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at noon.  
Other Information:
–Cost: $15 – everything is provided, including equipment if needed
-We can provide sleeping bags, backpacks or anything else you might need!

Just a reminder that Indoor Rock Climbing Interest Meetings for the trip this Friday are Monday, Sept. 22, at 5:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m., and both meetings are in Koury Commons (the seating area between the pool and the fitness center).

If you can’t make the meetings but still want to come, sign-ups start Sept. 24 at noon at the Front Desk of Campus Rec.

Also the cost of the trip is now only $5!

On Friday September 26th 黑料不打烊 Outdoors will be going to Tumblebee’s to test out our rock climbing skills!

Never been climbing? Have climbed all your life? Wanna meet new people? Looking to try something new with friends? If any of these apply to you than this is the trip for you.

Interest Meetings will be on the 22nd at 5:30 and the 23rd at 6:00

May 3rd 黑料不打烊 Outdoors is going White Water Rafting and Rock Climbing at the U.S. National White Water Center in Charlotte.

The trip will only be for one amazing day and we would leave around 8 am (I know its early, but it will definitely be worth it!) and would return around 5 pm. 

Sounds Great! But I bet your wondering how much it costs and what you’re getting…

Cost: $50
Includes: Guided Hour of Rock Climbing, All Rock Climbing Gear, Lunch, Guided 2 Hour Rafting Trip (Rapids up to class V!) and all transportation!

How do you sign up or find out more?!
