Summer Business Institute Information Session

April 5, 2011 at 7 p.m. in KOBC 145

Come and learn more about how you can enhance your chances of landing that job or internship of your choice.

The Summer Business Institute will be held June 1 – 18, 2011. The Institute provides May graduates, rising seniors, juniors and sophomores in non-business majors with the opportunity to enhance their marketability. This innovative three-week certificate program provides participants with broad knowledge of business principles and practices. Hands-on learning experiences ensure that participants gain skills applicable across a wide range of organizations and professions. Interactions with business and community leaders and visits to organizations to hear first-hand about the challenges and opportunities in today’s business environment round out the experience.

Coleman Rich hosts Credit Suisse executives for discussion on Process Improvement

Dale Meder, Director of Operational Excellence for Credit Suisse’s Centers of Excellence, Jessica Borrelli, Assistant Vice President on the America’s Operational Excellence team, and Michelle Gilliam, Director of Prime Services visited Professor Coleman Rich’s Operations Management BUS 326 classes on February 8 to discuss how Credit Suisse uses Six Sigma methodology to improve processes.

The class discussion included the theory supporting Six Sigma methodology and application of the methodology and business process improvement tools within Credit Suisse. Internship opportunities within Credit Suisse were also discussed with the students.
