On April 17 the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law Women’s Law Association celebrated students, faculty and legal professionals at the 5th Annual Women in the Profession Dinner. This year’s honoree for the “Outstanding Woman in the Profession” award was the Honorable Judge Teresa H. Vincent.

At ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law’s April Reception with the Legal Community, 43 students were recognized for significant pro bono and community service, including third-year law student Kaitlin Shimansky who was recognized for contributing the most pro bono hours while at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ with 445 hours logged. 

The former U.S. Attorney General said, “it is not even the end of the beginning” with regard to United States engagement with “Islamism.” 

Published by the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy, the article by ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law Professor Michael Rich examines benefits and costs of government mandates that aim to make some criminal conduct impossible through the use of emerging technologies. 

A 2010 graduate of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law, Anna Ksor Buonya testified at an April 11 Congressional hearing that examined Vietnamese government human rights violations.

Thirty-five teams of law students representing 24 law schools participated in the third annual Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law on April 5 and 6.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law professors Faith Rivers James and Roland Smith, and Founding Dean and Professor of Law Emeritus Leary Davis, presented at Santa Clara University School of Law’s fifth Leadership Education Roundtable. 

David M. Crowe, a professor of legal history at the School of Law, and professor of history in the department of History and Geography, gave a series of lectures at the Stetson University College of Law on March 6 and 7.

Volume 4, Issue 2 of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law Review includes articles analyzing how the detection, investigation and prosecution of criminal activity has changed since 9/11. 

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law professor David Levine is the coauthor of a law scholars letter to the Alaska Oil & Gas Conservation Commission (AOGCC) that supports the Commission’s groundbreaking proposed hydraulic fracturing (fracking) regulations to require corporations to disclose trade secret information, like chemical ingredients, used in fracking activity in Alaska.
