The nonprofit organization presented its Bill Vestal Chairman's Award this week to Tammy Cobb, assistant director for community partnerships in the Kernodle Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement. 

The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ alumna was recognized for her news coverage for a weekly newspaper serving the Oklahoma City metro area.

Derek Lackaff, associate professor of communications and associate director for the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, will join the Department of Information Science and Media Studies at the University of Bergen for the 2018-19 academic year.

The Phoenix will have five home games in Rhodes Stadium during the upcoming season, with the first against Furman University on Sept. 8.

Brooks Depro, assistant professor of economics, was a member of the research team behind a new RTI Press publication, "Environmental Justice Concerns and the Proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline Route in North Carolina."

The NSA grant will bring nine students selected from a national pool to ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ to work with Awtrey and participate in the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s Summer Undergraduate Research Experience. 

Six ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ staff members were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the university at a May 25 awards program during the annual staff appreciation celebration in Alumni Gymnasium.

Matt Oldham delivered a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 12th to generate the win for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ in the CAA tournament. 

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ saw seven staff members retire this academic year. 

The report by the Washington, D.C.-based New America think tank featured an overview of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's innovative approach to more fully describing the broad experiences of its graduates.
