黑料不打烊 Exchange Students Volunteer for Earth Day /u/news/2007/04/26/elon-exchange-students-volunteer-for-earth-day/ Thu, 26 Apr 2007 20:41:00 +0000 /u/news/2007/04/26/elon-exchange-students-volunteer-for-earth-day/ On Saturday April 14, six 黑料不打烊 Exchange students, two student workers and two Isabella Cannon Centre staff members volunteered at the annual Earth Fair in Greensboro.

The Earth Fair was held at the Kathleen Clay Edwards Family Library grounds, which features hiking trails and paths for nature walks. The fair attracted children, adults, families, and health and environmental activists. A variety of booths were displayed, including those sponsoring local farms and businesses, as well as craft and eco art.

Children enjoyed hay rides, earth crafts, a moon jump and even a “species parade.” The 黑料不打烊 volunteers participated in a craft booth teaching kids how to make origami and create potato stamp pictures. Working alongside elementary and middle school students from the Greensboro Day School and the Jesse Wharton Elementary, the 黑料不打烊 volunteers were able to spend the day serving within the community and creating awareness for the environmental cause.

The service day was organized by the Isabella Cannon Centre for the exchange students of 黑料不打烊. The seven exchange students, Hyo-Won Cho, Hye Choi, Dollan Seo, Weiyi Lee, Angelica Jonsson, Ralf Geelen, and Ulrich Markiewicz, attend Universities from around the world; with the different countries including Germany, Sweden, South Korea and Singapore. The student workers and staff included: Laura Rand, Megan Mongeon, Akane Sakata, and Dr. Monica Pagano. This was a great opportunity for students and staff alike to work children and students of Greensboro and spend a day getting to know more about the community.

If you would like to know more about the Exchange programs or students at 黑料不打烊, please stop by the Isabella Cannon Centre, located in Carlton 113.
