Professor Federico Pous' Spanish 4530 Magical Realism Class put on a participatory theater performance inspired by the Spanish "Teatro Foro" revolving around social themes related to adulting and transitioning from student to professional.

On Nov. 1, Professor Pous’ SPN3570 Representations of Socio-Political Conflicts class participated in the Día de los muertos festival in Durham, NC. The 10 students, with the help of the professor, constructed a traditional altar in memory of the people who lost their lives on their voyage to the US from Latin American countries.

The festival presented the film “The Illusion of Abundance: Risking Their Life to Protect Our Planet” by Erika Gonzales Remirez and Matthieu Lietaert in Turner Theater.

On Sept. 27, the Classical Studies program put on an amazing event in Carlton Commons. Mediterranean food was not missing, and students got a chance to get together and hear from four panelists on the theme, “Why study the ancient world?”
